Court Report: 07/09/2020 @ Snaresbrook Crown Court
I’m in Court 20 before His Honour Judge A Gordon for a 10am ‘Breach of Order’ hearing involving a Mr ‘KA’.
The court hears that he was found to have what was described as a ‘Zombie Knife’ on his person while attending a plumbing course at his local college. His sentence was 40-weeks custody suspended for 2 years with unpaid work of 200 hours imposed (among other things).
We hear that he failed to attend this unpaid work on the following dates:
13th Oct 2019
24th Nov 2019
5th Jan 2020
A fourth occasion was not pursued as the defendant tells the court he had broken his leg a few days prior.
The judge commented that it would be unjust to bring the suspended sentence into operation given that approximately 130 of the unpaid hours had been satisfied.
He continues by telling the court that conditions in prisons “are less pleasant than normal“.
Appearing unrepresented the defendant is given an additional 30 hours of unpaid work as punishment for the breach and costs of £100.
