Solicitor charged with stalking

Following an investigation by the Metropolitan Police Andrew Jonathan Milne, an SRA regulated solicitor, has been charged with the offence of stalking contrary to section 2A of the Protection from Harassment Act 1997.


Milne attended Thames Magistrates’ court on Thursday, 9th January 2025. He pleaded not guilty and a trial date was set for 16th May 2025.

The case then transferred to Stratford Magistrates’ court.

Following a hearing on 7th May 2025 the trial was adjourned to 3rd and 4th September 2025.

Following a hearing on 27th August 2025 the trial was adjourned and a 3hr case progression hearing was heard on 4th September 2025.

A 6hr Further Case Management Hearing was scheduled for 11th November 2025 but was adjourned until 2nd December 2025.

A further Further Case Management Hearing was held on 19th December 2025

The trial commenced on Monday 12th January 2026 for three days.

The trial adjourned part-heard and continued for a further three days on Monday 2nd February 2026.

The trial adjourned part-heard and continued for a further day on Tuesday 10th February 2026. At 17.15, District Judge Lisa Towell found the defendant Guilty of the offence of Stalking.

Milne was sentenced on Tuesday 10th March 2026 at Thames Magistrates Court and received:

  • A 24-month community order of 300 hours unpaid work
  • 20 days of rehabilitation requirements.
  • A seven-year restraining order
  • An order to pay £850 compensation; £650 towards costs and £114 victim surcharge within 28 days.

Nathan Goldstein, representing Milne, indicated his client would appeal the conviction.
